Joy Russell

Joy Russell, 81, passed away peacefully at her home on February 14, 2026, surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 24, 1944, to Marvin Edward and June Geogianna Coffman. True to her name, Joy brought warmth, kindness, and love to everyone she met.
On August 25, 1962, she married James Carl Russell. Together they built a strong and loving family, raising five children and creating a home centered on love, forgiveness and respect. Their legacy continues through their 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Joy is survived by her brother MiKe, four of her children: Jeff, John, Jillian, and Christopher; her 19 grandchildren: Kendall, Kim, Becky, Jordana, Rachel, Ryan, Marissa, John “Eric,” Sarah, Mikaela, Abby, Payton, Braxxton, Rain, Jaxxson, Kenny, Chloe, Latham, and Levi; and her 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Carl Russell; her oldest son, James Carl Russell Jr.; her sister Candy: and her parents.
Joy will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her easy laugh, ready smile, and genuine interest in others made every conversation brighter. The love she gave so freely will remain with her family for generations to come. We all have our unique stories of how Mom made us we are today by loving us through our mistakes and triumphs.
